Valent BioSciences (VBC) was created in 2000 when Sumitomo Chemical Company purchased the agricultural products business of Abbott Laboratories. VBC’s predecessor started the development of plant growth regulators in 1957 and today VBC has the most extensive portfolio of biorational products in the world. This portfolio is leveraged with highly specialized expertise in the areas of plant physiology, microbiology/fermentation, formulation and delivery systems, and global regulatory affairs.
VBC differentiates itself in consistently delivering products that provide real customer benefits. Our active ingredients are well defined and our rigorous Quality Control / Quality Assurance systems have resulted in a longstanding record of consistent product quality. The biological effects of our products are measurable and consistent, whether as a standalone product or as part of an integrated program that includes conventional chemistry.
VBC has expert capabilities in the areas of market need assessment/value creation, biological screening, plant physiology, entomology, microbiology/fermentation, formulation development/application technologies, product development, regulatory, manufacturing, and QC manufacturing.
